I love your work. It’s so happy making and I have your drawing book. But I struggle with putting pen to paper. I love the idea of filling the pages of a book but I never seem to be able to get into the habit. Still keep trying though, I know you started with a painting a day years ago.
Thanks!!, Give yourself some paremeters, Like 15 minutes a day minimum, 2 colors. Something not too overwhelming. It's hard but doable. Just make small commitments.
I am freezing cold in New England-brutal this year! NO fun at all, and I am so sick of all my sweaters, haha! Personally, I would recognize your "hand" anywhere since I have known your work for so long. I think an often overlooked thing that can make up a "Style" or a distinct voice of an artist is their palette and some of their go-to compositions. I do feel like you have a very vibrant palette and you use warm and cool colors in just the right "Jennifer" way! Sending your warm wishes from MA!
True, the palette can be very telling. I like my cool colors to be on the warm side and keep generally mainly warm or cool with surprises thrown in. Great observation. Thank you!!
“If it’s coming from you, it’s legit.” I love your ‘core’ style - everything that your hand produces, they are just different expressions, moods, coming from your core.
I love all of these! It’s true about committing to making a lot of work, which is hard to do when working full time and not getting home til 7 or so and then there are life things like dinner and other necessities. I’ve become much looser about some life stuff (like cleaning!!) to make more time for art, but it still can be difficult. Fast and loose is a good way to make a lot tho!
No doubt it's tough sometimes. One suggestion is to have a tiny sketchbook and a few pencils with you all the time and maybe pull them out for 5 minutes over a cup of tea or something. Good luck!
I am the same with winter ❄️ Usually I spend it in Florida and this year painting and writing and using loads of color and imagination is becoming my survival. And the hope of 50 degrees this weekend 🌞 Excited to join your next zoom!
These are all wonderful! iI love your work - yours was the first class I took online during Covid and it was a game changer! Thanks for all the inspiration, Jennifer.
I love everything you’ve painted here so much especially the brush strokes of the girl’s dress in San Miguel and the faces on vases at the end!🤩🤩🤩
And they are very different "styles" It's all good, Thanks Jess!!!
I find your comments very liberating. Thank you, again and again
You are very welcome!
I love all this so much--i want to mimic everything and then hope it gives me muscle memory to go out and do my own versions!
It will, Just keep going,Thanks Susan!!!

Exactly, and it's important to feel free to let that loose!
