Join us, this Sunday October 22 1-3 EST, for our Moroccan inspired Still Life class. I realized when I was practicing for the class that the shape of the teapot is hard to get right. While I’m painting on Sunday, I’ll talk about how I am getting the drawing in “basically” correct proportions. (You know I adore wonky, so I don’t get overly concerned) but I do want it to look like a teapot. I sketch first and can make corrections and create the style while painting. We will show you our sketchbooks from Morocco and then each demo for 40 minutes a new creative still life painting. Everyone will receive the recording within a week of class. We have fun, come!!
More details on class when you go to the link.
We just found out that tickets must be purchased through web browser, on computer or mobile, not through the Eventbrite IOS APP. Sorry about this snag.
Quick sketch of a teapot.
All are welcome, Donation only. We’d love to see you!
This is one of the Still Life demos I did on the workshop in Morocco.
A portion of our proceeds will go to Global Empowerment Mission for humanitarian aide. We will also choose an organization that provides relief for the victims of the earthquake in Morocco.
If you are an illustrator or surface designer, my friends Nate and Salli over at Hire an Illustrator just ran a great series on pricing. (Who can’t use help with that)!
“As the market for illustration becomes more saturated and competitive, it's more important now than ever for freelance illustrators to level-up their business game! The four seminars in The PRO Series will give you a competitive edge and give your business a big boost.

I popped in the Met Museum yesterday to see the Matisse/Derain show, the Origins of Fauvism. It’s a lovely small show. Here are a few paintings I loved
Andre Derain // I particularly love how he handled the masts of the boat in contrast to the jumble of boats and houses above and below. And the the wide ochre field.
This one is also Andre Derain, I love the folds and pattern on the robe in contrast with the strong colors of the background.
And a Still Life by Matisse. I love the solidness of jug and flower pot in contrast to the plant.
See you next time, I have a fun collaboration I’ll be announcing!

I participated on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Each of your and Gayle’s classes I have taken have helped me loosen up. Looking forward to the next one.
