Last Call for Woman and Nature Zoom Class this Saturday, May 10th.
And it's almost time for the Morocco Workshop
This Saturday! May 10th at 1-3 EST, New Zoom Class.
In this class, I will demo a woman in a natural setting, with flowers, trees, and love. You can choose to paint along as I explain the colors and technique as I go or just watch and do the lesson later.
and I always try out many versions before settling on the ones we want to paint with you. Above and below are my mother-in-law and husband as a baby. I love starting with some reference and completely changing the setting to a scene where I’d like to be. This pose was complicated to get in proportion, so I found another that will be perfect, and more accessible to everyone. Gayle is also working on a fun and joyful scene. Come to the workshop to join in on the final versions!Donation-based and all levels welcome.
I leave for Morocco on Tuesday. Gayle and I are teaching for a second time in Agadir at a beautiful, lush Kasbah. I’m so inspired by all the patterns and colors, rugs, tiles, kaftans, the ochres and mustards of the landscape. The light there creates such beautiful shadows. The first time visiting a place is always filled with awe and delight. On this third trip, I will allow myself the luxury to look more deeply and thoughtfully. There is so much to see that it can be hard to isolate images. Drawing these moments helps keep my hand in it all the time, and I can start to narrow down what will catch my eye for painting. I stay loose and energetic with these. This is the first trip I’m taking there with my new beloved markers and Muji sketchbook, I plan to come home with a full drawing notebook or two of this adventure!
I’ll be posting drawings here on Substack and Instagram so you can keep up with the trip. After I teach, I’m taking a ten-day trip exploring other areas of Morocco, Marrakesh, the desert, Fez, and Chefchaouen, a city painted all blue!
There are still spots in the Spring 2026 Portugal Workshop. It’s another very inspiring place to paint. If you have any questions about it and want to ask us live, at the end of our class on Saturday, we can have a small hangout and chat! If you follow along on our Morocco trip, you will see the kind of lessons and projects we cover. We tailor each trip to the location and the interests of the group.
Here are a few of my recent drawings with markers in the Muji notebook.
We have a Patreon group where we post new projects, tutorials, and have 2 live sessions a week.
I am a teacher in the Colori Flori Summit, 14 teachers, 14 distinctive lessons.
Hope to see you Saturday! xxJennifer
Ps what are your favorite markers that you had mentioned?
Hi Jennifer
I always enjoy your enthusiasm and your. Olorful paintings. Sounds like you have some adventures ahead too! Enjoy!
I signed up for the Colori Flori but didn’t get any kind of confirmation or indication that I was in.
Is this normal? Is there more info somewhere?
