and me, with special guest Gavin Snider (who is amazing and will share how he works and finds his summer inspiration: The 3 of us will be on an Instagram Live from my account at 2pm EST today)Gayle and I are getting to be old pros at these classes. (This will be our 17th class) We have lots of fun, We share so many tips and explain what we are painting step by step. At the end of the demo we will share our process of choosing the image. The work everyone produces while painting along with us has been outstanding and exciting. This is a donation-only class, suggested admission is $20 but please pay what you can afford. All levels are welcome, even kids! Gayle’s granddaughter Mona, may pop in this time. Everyone who signs up will get the recording to keep for life!
I spent lots of time making sketches and doing rough paintings to decide what the demo would be Sunday. I started out wanting to paint a beach scene but honestly, as much as I love going to the beach, hanging out, and sketching individuals, it just isn’t as inspiring to me as a meadow, a garden, or a pond. I love painting a wide variety of plants and colors. It’s important to listen to what speaks to you or it’s just not as fun or successful. I finally settled on the painting above (This is just a small part of it, I’ll leave the rest for you to see during class) I’m the model, and I had my husband take a few pictures of me looking into a fountain in Madison Square Park, so I could get the pose I wanted and the reflection. You'll see during class how I take the figure and place it in a completely different setting. We’d love to see you there! If you can’t make the class you will receive the recording within a week of class.
If you are interested in any of our past classes you can find them here.
I have lots of prints and original paintings in my shop if you are looking to brighten up a wall!
My favorite scarf is now available on 100% cotton 44” square
Hope to see you Sunday
