Escape to Portugal: A Dreamlike Art Retreat
May 28th-June 4th 2026
I’m so excited for you to join me and
for a glorious week in Portugal next May 28-June 4, 2026, in another amazing Uptrek retreat. It will be a breathtaking week of art, nature, and beauty. As much as you will learn from us about painting, drawing, and creativity, it’s also a chance to get away from it all, make new friends, discover new places, and expand your creative life. Our approach to teaching is relaxed and intuitive, our motto is no pressure, loosen up, play, and learn as we go. We are also always figuring things out and adding those discoveries to the lessons.
Every day, we will guide you through a clear progression of creative prompts and exercises to help you “see.” Each lesson builds on the last, so it all makes sense. We encourage you to follow your curiosity, we will be there with guidance, professional demos, and encouraging feedback to help you grow your confidence and voice.
Whether you’ve never held a paintbrush or have years of experience, we will meet you where you are, you’ll uncover new ways to express your creativity! Our guests have included single women, mother/daughters, friends, and women aged 18-82! Partners are welcome too if they are painters, our first husband joined us in Italy, and it was lots of fun to have him there!
We are so lucky to have the incredible Yogi, Chloe Ward, join us. We met her last year on our retreat in Portugal, She brings a beautiful heart-centered and grounding joy into our morning yoga sessions. We will wind down in the evening with Yoga Nidra and Yin, and she offers incredible one-on-one Reiki sessions. She is a beloved teacher by all, and I’m sure you will feel the same.
We will go on a creative day trip to Obidos and visit the castle there. We will take time for shopping, lunch, sketching, and then on to the beach to hang out. Another highlight will be a special healing experience with the horses on the property. (also drawing them)! We will have delicious chef-made vegetarian and vegan meals, and lovely snacks at five pm while painting.

A New Zoom Class on May 10th 1-3 EST
This class will be a celebration of women and mothers. Our theme will center around a woman surrounded by flowers — and possibly a child —capturing a scene full of warmth, color, and care. It is donation-based, all levels are welcome. We will stay on at the end if anyone would like to ask us questions about Portugal!
On May 8th, we will host a special live nude drawing session on our Patreon with the beautiful Caterina, whom we often draw. This is available to our Opera Pink tier members. We also meet up two times per month for a paint and chat. Stop in and say hi, we have such fun!! For all members, we post weekly about our techniques, process and ongoing projects.
